AV Proyectos 085: Dossier Lacaton & Vassal

The dossier in this issue of AV Proyectos is devoted to the Paris-based studio of Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal, whose latest proposals seek creating permeable and open spaces, filled with light and plants, where the design is determined by the needs of the users. The ‘competitions’ section collects the projects of the eight Spanish teams that have earned first prizes in Europan 14, all addressing the challenges of "Productive Cities", motto of the latest edition of the European competition. The ‘detail’ section focuses on the versatility of textiles, featuring an inflatable space, an emergency shelter, a sculptural envelope, and two tensile structures for sun and rain protection in very different contexts.
