Fieldtrip

Through a full-colour guidebook Fieldtrip offers the chance to experience a combination of stunning natural scenery and over 10,000 years of man's intervention in the landscape - from pre-historic settlements to contemporary architecture. Each trip is presented in the guidebook with detailed maps, practical information and descriptions of the various buildings to see and visit. A more personal response to the days out is provided by groups and individuals. Five groups were taken on guided tours as the book was being researched. The guides for the research trips included a writer, an architect, a photographer, an artist and two historians. The three additional routes are recommendations from an artist, an architect and a designer. Each of the trips can be done in a single day, with most accessible by all members of the family from children to grandparents.
